Bivalve Dairy is thrilled to be in such good company, as The Good Food Foundation announced its finalists today for The Good Food Awards 2020-2021. Over 1,900 entries were sampled (in 16 different categories) and Mendonça cheese is holding its own against socially responsible heavyweights in the cheese category from all over the United States. In this final bout of 338 craft products, the culinary excitement will continue to mount over the holidays, (giving customers ample time to try each recommended product). Follow Mendonça as our curds rise to the top, culminating in the announcement of the winning flavors in each category on January 22nd, 2021.
*Cheese Profile: Mendonça is similar to a traditional Açorean island-style cheese. It’s tangy with grassy flavors up front, ending with a spicy piquant finish. Serve on a cheese or charcuterie board, and pair it with a full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon or a hop-forward IPA.
